![]() The plot thickens: bought a new laptop this week running Win 7 (64 bit). KX49 also works with the complete DAW configuration or on its own with Cubase. Eventually, driver updates for Win XP this year fixed all my sound problems. Who at either Steinberg or Yamaha ever tests these products? Why try to sell something that simply does not work? Yamaha drivers were the root problem as far as I could tell. Out of the box, it did not work with Cubase on its own or with the n12 when they ran together. Added a Yamaha KX49 USB midi keyboard controller last year. ![]() The challenge has been to get good drivers and associated hardware extensions on a consistent basis from Yamaha. The n12 in combination with Cubase make a powerful and creative DAW configuration. Sound performance has been fantastic when the Windows drivers are working. I have been using the n12 with Cubase Studio 4 (now 4.5.2) and Win XP 32 bit (now SP3) for 2 years.
